📺 TV Shows to Watch
The Gentlemen – Season 2
One of the notable returning series this month is The Gentlemen.
The second season has already attracted significant attention from Netflix viewers. Netflix reported that Season 2 reached the No. 1 position on its English TV list for the week of September 7, with 9.9 million views.
For viewers who enjoyed the first season, the new episodes provide another reason to add the series to the September watchlist.
Stranger Things: Tales From ’85
Fans of the Stranger Things universe can also look forward to Stranger Things: Tales From ’85, another addition to Netflix’s September programming.
The series is part of Netflix’s expanding Stranger Things universe and gives fans another story to explore.
A Different World
Netflix is also bringing viewers a new chapter connected to the classic sitcom A Different World.
The new series follows a new generation at Hillman College while bringing back familiar elements from the original series.
🍿 Movies to Watch
September is also an important month for movie fans.
New films are arriving in cinemas and on streaming services, covering everything from horror and thrillers to comedy and drama.
Among the theatrical releases being highlighted this month are Practical Magic 2, Resident Evil, Bad Apples, Primetime, Heart of the Beast, and other upcoming films.
For movie fans, the changing seasons also mean the beginning of a busy fall movie calendar.
🎥 Toronto International Film Festival
September is particularly important for Canadian cinema because of the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).
TIFF remains one of Canada’s major film events and brings filmmakers, actors, industry professionals and audiences together in Toronto.
The 2026 festival has already generated attention around films including The Debut and I Play Rocky, while other titles such as Being Heumann and Stuffed have also been part of the festival conversation.
For Canadian movie fans, TIFF is one of the best opportunities of the year to discover films before they reach a wider audience.
📱 What’s Trending on Streaming?
Streaming continues to change how people discover movies and television.
Netflix’s Canadian Top 10 list for the August 31–September 6 period included titles such as The Whisper Man, The Secret Woman, The Magnificent Seven, Turning Point: Generation 9/11, and Untold: Raygun: Breaking Badly.
These rankings can change quickly, making weekly entertainment updates useful for viewers who want to know what audiences are watching.
🔥 Horror Season Is Coming
As September moves toward October, horror content is becoming an increasingly important part of the entertainment calendar.
Several major streaming platforms are preparing horror and supernatural releases for the Halloween season.
Upcoming titles highlighted at TIFF include Carrie, Below, Crystal Lake, and Yaga, with premieres scheduled for October.
